Zakariyah Shah has over eight years of experience providing transaction advisory services to companies ranging from SEC filers to founder-owned private equity targets. He has extensive expertise across a broad range of industries, including consumer goods and retail, industrial manufacturing, automotive, and healthcare.

Zak specializes in supporting the Office of the CFO through major M&A events, including pre- and post- close integration management and execution, finance function assessments, future-state finance function roadmaps, and management reporting and FP&A enablement.

During his career, he has provided operational finance support to private equity firms and their platforms by standing up repeatable integration functions, improving processes including close acceleration, and developing future state finance roadmaps to enable CFOs to align their finance functions to support forecasted growth. Zak serves as both a strategic and tactical advisor to the Office of the CFO, focusing on overall improvement and transformation while executing in the details.

Prior to joining Stout, Zak spent years in audit (PwC) and deal advisory (KPMG), where he focused on accounting standard adoption and integrations, and he led systems-related initiatives involving SAP, Epicor, Planful, OneStream, and lease accounting software. For the leasing software, he created client-specific training materials and configuration procedures while supporting post-adoption matters.

Zak is a Certified Public Accountant and has provided technical accounting guidance on topics such as ASC 842, ASC 606, and SEC Regulation S-X and S.
